The Toolbar

The toolbar is built automatically from the main menu for the subset of main menu items that have been assigned an icon.

The only exception is some status-related buttons are placed on the statusbar in the bottom of the form rather than on the toolbar.

The Open Windows List.

The windows list is initially empty. For each MDI child window that has been opened by either a sidebar button or corresponding main menu item click it shows an entry that gives you a direct acces to the open MDI child window. You can also close a child window by clicking the "x" button.

The Sidebar

The Sidebar along the left side of the main form allows you to open MDI child windows to show specific information from the database and take control of it.

The sidebar is organized into 4 sections:

Favorites
This section can be customized as a subset of the other section. Right-click and choose "Customize ..." or use the main menu item "Extras | Customize Favorites ..." to select the set of items to be shown here.

Standard
This section shows the most often used pages that are available without special privileges.

Additional
This section shows additional, less often used pages that are available without special privileges.

DBA
This section shows administrative pages that require enhanced privileges such as DBA.
The shipped HORA_USER role as well as Oracle's SELECT_CATALOG ROLE or SELECT ANY DICTIONARY give you at least read-only access to these pages.

Within each of the above sections, you will find a series of icons, each enabling you to view a type of database object. Clicking a Sidebar button opens or redisplays the corresponding MDI child window.

The Statusbar

The Statusbar at the bottom of the main form displays the following information:

Current Schema selector

The dropdown list of the combobox shows the logon schema, SYS, SYSTEM, PUBLIC and schemas giving grants to the logon user in blue color.
